What Are These Objects?

This page is dedicated to objects that I find while out and about. Usually picking them up off the street or grass. The page is heavily inspired by the "found objects" page over on Oopsie Doodle, that is one of my all time favorite Neocities sites, and highly reccomend you go check it out!

The found objects page over there in particular is a favorite of mine. And it inspired me to do my own spin on the idea here on my own website. Of course, with my own flair.

Enter the Tarot Cards!

I've been learning to read Tarot for a while now, and decided to combine these two aspects. On this page, I will use my Tarot deck to discover the history of these forgotten items. I will also sometimes be aided by my Dowsing Pendulum, usually to ascertain the accuracy of my reading. For a breakdown of my History Spread, please click Here.

Artefact #1

Item:

A car key and fob

Date Discovered:

March 16th, 2026

Description:

A single metal car key attached to a black key fob. The key itself features "Y159" inscribed upon it, as well as "USA". Keyfob is simple and cheaply made, features six buttons. PANIC, trunk, left door, right door, lock, and unlock. The keyring bears mild rusting, suggesting exposure to the elements.

Observations:

This item was discovered in the parking lot nearby my office. I was on a walk to McDonalds after work, when I spotted it lying in some bushes near a parking spot. I took it back to the office, and waited a few days to see if anyone would come to claim it. When they did not, I brought it home for my collection.

These keys, and by proxy the car they belonged to, came to the possession of The Owner as a wedding gift. A great present to end a great celebration. But the good times did not last.

The Owner found that, shortly after their wedding, there was already trouble in paradise. The love she once had for her husband was fading, and fading fast. She found him to be stifling, stoic, and emotionally unaware. He never talked about how he truly felt, everything was kept locked away and bottled up.

Her relationship with her husband only got worse as time went on. She tried to stick it out, but things never improved. Even after the birth of their son and daughter. With things so heavily on the rocks, The Owner began to feel like her home life was crumbling down around her, like her life was turned upsidedown.

But saving her from the oppressive relationship was her friends and family. She confided in them, and it was through them that she gained the courage to stand up for herself, to strike out on her own. SHe was going to be her own woman and finally cut things off with her husband.

But there was one last roadblock. As The Owner was on her way to divorce her husband... She lost her car keys. And she would never see them again.

Artefact #2

Item:

A Cross Shaped Charm

Date Discovered:

Unknown

Description:

A small, metal charm in the shape of a cross. It features a latice design with a loop at the top where it can be attached to a necklace or bracelet.

Observations:

This charm was initially discovered in an old office the company I work for used to be housed at. We worked in that office up until January of this year. This charm was located in our file room, inside the drawer of one of the shelves. It sat there for over six years. No one claimed it. No one took it. I checked on it every few months to see if it was still there, and it was. When I heard about us moving offices, I knew it was time to claim it. Or else it would be gone forever. I took the charm and added it to my personal collection.

The owner of this item was trapped in a toxic religious environment. It was a place of steep competition, abuse, and toxic peers. The owner felt chained down and repressed, but their only bright side was a close friend that stayed by their side.

But one day, something shifted. The owner of the item found themselves suddenly with more power in this religious institution than before. But that power was not well recieved, it went to their head. And soon they were participating in the toxic environment, toxic competition, as much as anyone else.

In their pursuit of more control, higher authority, they betrayed their friend. They used them to get a leg up on the competition, and this broke the heart of their friend.

By the time the owner emerged from their self-absorbed delusions, it was too late. Their friend was gone and they were left with a deep feeling of pessimistic heartbreak.

They were left to wallow in a pit of despair, regretting everything they had done. Their emotional trauma left a deep impact on them, and because of this cast aside their connections to the toxic enviroment.

In a literal show of rebellion, they discarded the charm at their workplace. Leaving it behind as they struggled to emerge from their pain anew.
