My "History of An Object" Tarot Spread

Hello Dollies! Today's blog is a special one!

I think I've mentioned it offhandedly before, but I've been learning how to do Tarot Readings lately. I probably mentioned it in a blog somewhere, but I dont think I ever went fully into detail about it.

Anyways, I've finally gotten comfortable enough with my deck to start doing some readings. Primarily, starting one of the biggest things I had in mind when I started.

I wanted to use Tarot Cards to discern the history of lost objects.

I have a fascination with that kind of thing, and so I wanted to use the powers of divination to further learn about some items I've come across.

The only issue was that I could NOT for the life of me find a spread that worked for this purpose. At least not one that I felt worked well enough.

So I bit the bullet and designed my own! This spread that I call "History Spread", will be used in an upcoming page on my website. Its not out at the time of me writing this, but it will be soon! So stay tuned!

In the meantime, I'm going to demonstrate and explain the spread I created and how I will be using it.

This here is the spread I came up with. Also a little teaser! As this is the reading I did for the first object in my collection. The actual reading doesn't matter for this yet though. I'll just explain the card positions and what they mean.

So the overall shape of the spread is meant to mimic the flow of time. The cards flow around the Owner card (to be explained in a second) and the item itself. This spread channels the residual energy left behind on the lost object, as well as the Owner card's identity. From there, the cards wrap around, telling a story of the object.

I'll go over the meaning of each card placement next:

Card #1: The Owner Card

The Owner Card is the card that tells me directly about the last person who mattered the most to this item. This card will help identify the owner a little bit, which will be imperitive towards understanding the rest of the reading.

This card is placed in the center of the spread, alongside the item itself. This helps focus the energy of the object and allows for the rest of the reading to proceed more accurately and more smoothly.

Card #2: The Beginning

The next card represents the beginning of this object's history. It's not necessarily the creation of the object, however. It could be, but it could also be where its story begins. In this instance, it marked the beginning of The Owner's history.

Card #3, #4, #5, and #6: The Journey

Cards 3 through 6 are what represent the journey of the object. The way the story of it and its owner unfolded.

These next four cards are pulled simultaneously and are read a single entity. Its important to remember that these cards, while they could be in chronological order, do not have to be. It is better to think of these four cards as one long tale, rather than four seperate events.

Card #7: The End

This card here represents the end of the journey. This is where the object and its owner parted ways.

Bye bye, Dollies~!
