"Pretty FACE (Jeff The Killer)"
An image that needs absolutely no introduction. I'm sure that every single one of you that's stumbled your way into here, knows what this picture is. Jeff The Killer. The scary image highly associated with the Jeff The Killer creepypasta. Of which I might just be a slight fan of.... Hehe....~
More interestingly about this photo though, is the search for its origins.
I won't detail the full search here, something like that would take a while. And is more deserving of its own dedicated discussion somewhere else on my site. I just wanted to go over some of the basics.
We actually have an earlier version of the JTK photo. This one here. The earliest origin of this version of the image being from a Japanese website called Fileman. This version of the photo was titled "Fear of Summer Nights", and was described as being "a celebrity before plastic surgery". Though this is almost certainly not where the image originates from, as comments on the thread associated to this picture mention earlier sightings.
The second version of the image, the more popular one, was almost certainly created by someone named Omega Volt on the website known as pya.
There are many theories on where the original image came from. Of course, there's Seusser's story. Which is that it is himself wearing a latex mask. This was easily debunked, however. There was also the old Katy Robinson story. That said the image was of an overweight girl, who posted it to 4Chan begging for compliments. Only for the thread to warp her photo into the monster we see here today. The legend says Katy Robinson even killed herself after this. But this story was also proven false.
I personally subscribe to the theory that Jeff The Killer originates from warped and horrifying pictures of that one woman who's name I cant remember right now (fake fan, I know). Those Make Me Pretty Thread theories are very convincing in my opinion. And the images of the girl, that were highly publicised on the internet back then, make it very likely to me. Especially around the Japanese 2Chan.
