The Izu Hitogata

This is one of my favorite creepy images due to its more obscure nature. Don't get me wrong, I love the classics and more popular pics. But there's always something fun about discovering a new creepy image or story.

This image originates from the Japanese side of the internet. In Japan there exists a camera set up at this specific junction overlooking Mount Izu. The skyline of the mountain behind it is popularly known as the Izu Skyline. And the camera takes a picture of the skyline at the top of every hour.

At 6AM on November 20th, 2020. The Izu Skyline camera caught this strange photograph. An image of a man standing perfectly still in the middle of the road. Covered in shadow and with a strange gait.

To make matters even stranger, this image would later be removed from the Izu Skyline website. Just what exactly did the camera catch that morning? Was it just a stranger walking across the road, that happened to get caught in the camera's shutter? Or was this something.... Darker? A spirit or some kind of cryptid?

P.s. "Izu Hitogata" just means "Izu Humanoid", in case you were wondering about the name.
