Recovered Photograph From Doveland, Wisconsin

Doveland, Wisconsin is an urban legend/conspiracy theory that is very near to my heart. I can't help but find the whole thing very interesting. Particularly because it was a creepy story that I only learned of last year. And I always love learning of obscure and strange internet mysteries. Especially when they have images or videos attached to them.

The legend goes that Doveland, Wisconsin was a military town that once stood in the state. However, if you go searching for that town now you come up with nothing at all. No location, no history, nothing. Doveland only survives in the memories of those that claim to have visited there or had relatives that lived there.

There exists many pieces of "Doveland Souvenirs" such as t-shirts or mugs. But with this mystery becoming more popular in recent years, its impossible to tell what might be authentic and what might be a replica.

There are many theories about what could have happened to Doveland. Anywhere from earthquakes or sinkholes swallowing up the town, to a military experiment gone wrong. I personally think it was the Government. They probably messed something up there, some kind of experiment, and had to suddenly evacuate the whole town. And after that they made damn sure that nobody would ever remember Doveland, Wisconsin again. Aside from the few grasps of ephemera that managed to slip by.

The image above is supposedly a recovered photograph from Doveland. I can find no information on where this image might have originated from, or even how it came to be associated with the legend of Doveland, Wisconsin. So maybe, just maybe, it really is a recovered photograph after all....
